Phyllis A. Webb, 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Muldoon Community Assembly (MCA) in Anchorage, AK. Both Funeral and Burial services will take place in Phyllis’ hometown of Atwater, CA on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
Phyllis was born July 16, 1955 to Ozie and Vera Cooksey. She spent her childhood and early adult life in Atwater and Sacramento, CA. She later married Gary Webb on June 26, 1982 and relocated to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska.
Phyllis worked with the Alaska State School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, as a Sign Language Interpreter in the Anchorage School District.
Phyllis was a devoted mother, wife, and woman of faith. She enjoyed reading, watching sports, and serving the Lord.
Her family and friends declare, “Phyllis had such a quiet strength about her; she was the strongest person I know. She continued to fight her hardest, even when she was at her weakest. Her faith in God never
changed!”
She is survived by her husband, Gary; her three daughters, Loren, Ashley, and Tyler J.; her sisters Pearly Kemp and Renae Dunn of Sacramento, CA; her brothers Allen Cooksey of Sacramento, CA, and Rick Cooksey of Accokeek, MD; as well as many other relatives.
