ADC Statewide Meeting – May 5, 2012

Hope you can come to ADC’s next statewide meeting! We will discuss
bylaws, an annual budget, and the Alaska Deaf Center progress. Come sign
a “Thank You” card to our legislators for approving $475,000 for phase 2
in the Alaska Deaf Center project!

Where: Room 130, Charter College, 2221 E. Northern Lights Blvd. (down the
hall from AVS)

When: May 5th, 10am – 4 pm, lunch fundraiser at Noon.
At 11am – Alaska Deaf Center report/meeting (a meeting within the meeting)

Who: YOU! Come show you support the deaf community

Why: Together, we can change Alaska! And sign a thank you card to our
legislators.

Alaska Deaf Center Committee Meeting

Hi All,

A reminder our next Alaska Deaf Center committee will meet Wednesday, April 18 at 6pm at Alyeska Vocational Services (AVS) conference room.

The CSSB160 capital budget bill of phase II grant of $475,000 has been approved through Alaska Legislature which will be further discussed during the meeting.

Look forward to seeing you at the meeting tomorrow. Kudos to each of us who has been involved in making this a success!

ASL Performance Night in Anchorage

Michelle Banks, our Deaf Artist in Residence this year, will be working with ASSDHH elementary school students on Wed, April 18th then with middle and high school students from all around Alaska during their retreat on Thurs, April 19th. On Fri, April 20th Michelle will be preparing for our annual show. Students will be involved, our Marie Jean Phillips winning students and staff (Dalton A., Cara M. and Katie Irwin), will be honored.

Donations of $5 – $10 will be accepted at the door. All funds will go to support our student art, poetry and ASL efforts. For a donation of $10 you will receive a commemorative card drawn by Katie Irwin, a local Deaf artist.

Hope to see everyone at the Bartlett High School Auditorium on Friday, April 20th beginning at 6:00pm! Help us spread the word! Come show your support!
